Web of Experience
Visualize connections through art! Join Diego to illustrate the movement of people through space and time using threads on a map of Kjipuktuk/Halifax. Residents are invited to chart their individual journeys to weave a web symbolizing our interconnectedness as a community.
Dare to Dance
Move along with Céline as we explore the world of "fusion dance" and how we can honour the cultures in which many of these fusion movements are rooted. We’ll also discuss ways to inspire a life of dance at home and in our community!
Four Technologies of Magic
Join Kate Felicia in sharing and learning about the four technologies of magic! This exciting session is based on the work of Martha Beck who travelled the world to study the ways of healers across different cultures.
Japanese Calligraphy & Origami
Discover the joy and beauty of calligraphy and origami with the Japanese Society from Dalhousie University. Come join this hands-on session to learn about artistic writing practices and the art of paper folding!
Language Connect
Immerse yourself in cultural exchange at "Language Connect"! Engage in lively conversations with community members while rotating through tables featuring various languages. Learn and share sentences, fostering connections and celebrating the diversity of our community!
Korean Culture Night
Enjoy a taste of Korean culture with Alex Oh and the NS Korean Language & Culture Centre. Join in to make and taste Korean food, learn how to read Korean (it's easy!), talk about K-dramas, create folk crafts, and more!
Creating Spaces for Language and Pollinators
Do you have a green thumb, a love for languages, and an interest in building? Join us at the Build Trailer popup to build the first piece of a new outdoor community space! We are working with our neighbours at Alliance Française to create a place in the North End where languages, plants, and pollinators will flourish together!

I’m Tomas (He/They)! I’m an Italian/Ukrainian settler who moved to Mi’kma’ki with my partner. I love spending time outdoors, sharing food with friends, and crafting. I’m grateful to learn of and witness the strength of community in the North End.
Multicultural Playtime

Jesse Benjamin is a proud Indigenous woman, mother of four and a Mi’kmaq fancy shawl dancer. Join her in this session to explore what to expect at a powwow and cover some common powwow etiquette.
Acknowledging Traditional Territories
Wyatt is from Listuguj First Nation but has lived in Kjipuktuk for twenty years. With a career in public service and education, he’s keen on engaging in conversations on all matters related to ReconciliAction. Wyatt was part of the team in its earlier days and is excited to keep contributing towards this important work!

Frances, Dora and Rebecca are BACK with another interactive, insightful and fun Inuit Culture session at the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre. Come join us and experience Inuit culture and traditions through shared knowledge, demonstration, and activities.

I’m Debra and I’m excited to meet you and share Luski together. I live in Uniacke Square. I’m a mother of three and grandmother of eighteen. I come from a mixed cultural heritage of Black Nova Scotian and First Nations, and I am proud of both my cultures.
Exploring the Mi’kmaw Lunar Calendar
The Mi’kmaq have traditionally used the moon as a measurement of time passing and the names given to each moon or month are based on whatever is happening in the surrounding natural environment at that time. Come and explore the Mi’kmaw Lunar calendar in a fun and interactive way!

Hi, I’m Frances. I grew up in the urban Indigenous community in Halifax and now manage the Atelihai (Welcome) Inuit program of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre. Come experience Inuit culture and traditions through shared knowledge and demonstration.
Womens’ Mi’kmaq Dances
Denise John is a Mi’kmaq jingle dress and traditional dancer from Miawpukek First Nation, NL. She loves going to powwows and will be leading this conversation around the many teachings she’s learned along her path.
